Breed Overview Information :The origin of the Norwegian Buhund Breed is in Norway. It is also known as Spitztype breed. This dog breed works in farm and is of general purpose. The Norwegian Buhund Can help its owner in hunting and hauling. They can also be used as reindeer herder and a sheepdog. Up to this day, the Norwegian Buhund Breed is still considered as farm dog. But in some other countries, they are used for security purposes and are companion of policeman.

The Norwegaian Buhund Breed has a good stamina and is also strong. Although it is lightly-built, its endurance is still above average. They also possess sensitive senses.

Breed Coat Information : 

A double coat breed, the Norwegian Buhund possesses a smooth and thick outer coat. However , it is hard and short as well. The undercoat of this puppy is soft and its texture is wooly. They also have long coat on the chest , around the neck and on the back of their legs. Unlike the Norfolk Terrier, The Norwegian Buhund is not non-shedding but is a heavy shedder every season.

They are also in companion with the policemen for tracking and other police related operations.

Breed Care Information :

The bristle of the brush that should be used for daily brushing of the Norwegian Buhund has to be firm. During their heavy seasonal shedding, they have to be taken care of more. It is not necessary that they are to be bathed everyday. They have are not so prone to diseases but experience hip dysplaia but not that high ocurrence. Just like the other dogs that have been discussed , they are also prone to having some eye problems.

Among all the Spitz-dogs that are present nowadays, the Norwegian Buhund is the easies to train. They can easily be taught because they are socializing dog breeds. Norwegian Buhund is also fast learner. Their inteligence makes them very teachable.
