| Breed Coat Information : | When the Newfoundland is not a puppy anymore –that means adult, his coat is water-resistant, flat and double. It is not messy to look at because when you rub it against the nap, it falls back into place. On the other hand, the outer coat of this breed can be either straight or wavy. It is averagely long and rough. However, there is also the softer one that is the undercoat. In warm months just like summer, their undercoat becomes less dense. It has a fine hair on the face and muzzle as well. Feathers are all over their legs and a dense hair covers the tail. Some people trim other excess hair in their Newfoundland for cleanliness purpose.
