Breed Overview Information :The Newfoundland Breed is popularly known as “Newfie”. Nobody knows where this dog breed came from. Their ability is to rescue people from water. The reason behind their capability to retrieve and haul is because their size is massive and they are also strong.
Breed Character Information :If you are looking for a very good companion that is multipurpose, maybe you can see those characteristics by merely considering the Newfoundland Breed. They are gentle and they act elegantly. Being one of the friendliest dog breeds, the Newfoundland can be counted on especially when somebody’s life is at risk. These “courageous giants” are really of big help to people.
Breed Coat Information :  When the Newfoundland is not a puppy anymore –that means adult, his coat is water-resistant, flat and double. It is not messy to look at because when you rub it against the nap, it falls back into place. On the other hand, the outer coat of this breed can be either straight or wavy. It is averagely long and rough. However, there is also the softer one that is the undercoat. In warm months just like summer, their undercoat becomes less dense. It has a fine hair on the face and muzzle as well. Feathers are all over their legs and a dense hair covers the tail. Some people trim other excess hair in their Newfoundland for cleanliness purpose. It should be remembered, however, that it is not necessary for them to trim the whiskers.
Breed Temperament Information :

If the Newfoundland breed is a person ,it would be perfect. This friendly dog is very responsible and also affectionate. The sweetness of this dog breed is very well observed. It rescues those who are in need of help. As much as possible , this dog tries to protect his family from any signs of danger.

The Newfoundland moves slowly that is why they have to be given exercise. Perhaps, the owners can let them have playing sessions or even let them swim so that they can develop their physical activity.

Breed Care Information :Owner should brush the Newfoundland everyday to maintain its cleanliness. The best way to do in order to prevent the losing of natural oils in the dog's coat is by shampooing it dry. This type of dog breed is usualy prone to heart disease because it easily gains weight.
Breed Training Information :

Although they are very gentle, this type of breed is hard to train. There should be patience on the part of the trainer because it doesnot respond to harsh treatments. The tone of the voice has to be calm so that they will follow the command of the trainer. The basic trainings like how to be obedient and friendly among people is very well done by the Newfie.
