Breed Overview Information :The Miniature Pinscher or Mini Pin, fondly referred to as the “King of the Toys” was developed in Germany to decrease the number of rats that frequented stables. These small dogs are very energetic and brave. They are quite protective but they will react depending on how they were raised as a puppy. All in all, this breed will make a fabulous pet for households with older, more mature children.
Breed Character Information :  Miniature Pinschers are very loyal to their owner. They enjoy tagging along with their owners and are very eager to please. They can generally socialize well with people and other dog breeds as long as they are trained how to do so as a puppy.  They are a very intelligent and headstrong breed so firm and consistent training is necessary. This breed loves to bark but can be taught not to do it excessively when given proper positive reinforcement. Since they are naughty, they do better in houses with mature children rather than with infants and toddlers.
Breed Coat Information :  The Miniature Pinscher’s short and smooth coat is usually red, black or tan. It is generally low maintenance since an occasional brushing and bathing will do. It is an average shedder unlike other dog breeds that shed heavily.
Breed Temperament Information :As mentioned above, these small dogs are highly intelligent and headstrong. They need an owner who is firm and consistent in their training. Otherwise, they are likely to develop a disruptive behavior. It is naturally suspicious of strangers but will react depending on the way it was raised as a puppy. If taught how to socialize at a very young age, these small dogs can get along well with other animals. If this breed is spoiled by its owner, they will most likely become aggressive and demanding.
Breed Ownership Information :  Miniature Pinschers are not recommended for first time dog owners since they are very headstrong and quite demanding. To further determine if this is the right dog breed for you, read and research on Miniature Pinscher dog breed information’s. There are thousands of Mini Pin owners worldwide; some have even formed organizations centered on its care and training.
Breed Activity Information :

The Mini Pin requires lots of exercise to keep it from becoming idle and to prevent it from becoming aggressive and disruptive. These small dogs should be given daily walks. They also enjoy off the leash runs. However, make sure that their runs are restricted to fenced areas since they have a tendency to escape and wander off.

Breed Care Information :  The Miniature Pinscher is generally low maintenance. They are generally healthy suffering from no known hereditary disease. Occasional visits to a certified veterinarian and the appropriate shots and medications will prevent any complications from developing. It’s coat only needs to be brushed and bathed occasionally.
Breed Training Information :  The Mini Pin can be difficult to house break. However, they are very eager to learn and please their owners. Firm and consistent training will make them respond better.
