Breed Overview Information :The Ibizan Hound, also known as the Ca Eivissenc and the Podenco Ibicenco in Spanish is part of the hound family and described in Ibizan Hound Dog Breed information’s as “deer-like.”  It is one of those few dog breeds that come with the elegance and the graceful appearance making it an attractive pet.  Its amber colored eyes is striking.  The Ibizan Hound males are bigger than the females.  An Ibizan Hound puppy has the height of about 24-29 inches and a weight of at least 45-65 lbs.
Breed Character Information :The Ibizan Hound is similar to most small dogs because of its characteristic of being quiet, but in the event that it senses danger or a stranger (since they are wary of strangers), the Ibizan Hound will bark really loud and would alert its owners, making it a great watch dog.  It is one of those dog breeds that have loyalty to its owners as well as other dogs within the household.  Ibizan Hounds are intelligent creatures but tend to be stubborn and independent. 
Breed Coat Information :  The Ibizan Hound dog’s coat is tight fitting, dense, and hard and has two types of texture: etiher rough or smooth.  Its coat colors may range from solid red, solid white, or a combination of both colors.
Breed Temperament Information :An Ibizan Hound puppy is described as energetic and has the love of leaping or jumping.  In fact, during its early years, it is boisterous but once it reaches adulthood it will be calmer in actions.  Ibizan Hounds are protective, making them good guard dogs.  They also get along fine with other kids as well as other household dogs, whether large dogs or small dogs, but should be exposed to socialization at an early stage for it to get along well with smaller animals such as rabbits, cats, etc.

Breed Activity Information :  Ibizan Hounds should be exercised regularly.  As long as you have a large yard with a high fence, then you’re ready to start living your life with an Ibizan Hound.  A high fence is needed because this breed can jump easily over a fence.  It has an active stamina that means that it should have daily activities such as running, walking, jogging, etc.
Breed Care Information :The Ibizan Hound is an average shredder so it only requires low maintenance in grooming.  For smooth haired breeds, wipe the coat hairs with a damp cloth to avoid matting.  If your Ibizan Hound is long-haired, occasional clipping and brushing would suffice to prevent the coat hairs from matting.
Breed Training Information :  Ibizan Hounds are among those breeds that are eager to learn, making them easy to train.  A Gentle training method with consistency is best for this breed.  Socialization and the right training should be given to your Ibizan Hound to prevent it from becoming a tyrant.
