Breed Overview Information :

A Goldendoodle, according to Goldendoodle Dog Breed Information’s, is a crossed version of a Golden Retriever and Poodle.  Goldendoodles, also known as Groodles and Golden poos are dog breeds that are bred since the 1990’s in both Australia and North America.  Since small dogs such as the toy poodle has been a success just the same as large breeds like the Golden Retriever, breeders decided to try breeding both which resulted to the Goldendoodles puppy, now a popular hybrid.

Breed Character Information :

The Goldendoodle is said to be a “family oriented” dog with a facial expression that always seems to be smiling.  It is considered to be full grown as it reaches the age of one year.  The Goldendoodle is one of the most affectionate dog breeds.  It also displays loyalty and is very eager to please, not to mention the intelligence to be proud of.

Breed Coat Information :   The Goldendoodle’s coat is a in-between a Poodle and Golden Retriever’s coats.  The coat hairs of these dog breeds are said to be fine but thick in texture that may either be straight, curly or wavy.  The colors of the Goldendoodle’s coat will really depend on how strong the Poodle influence is.  The most common coat colors are tan, black, white, chocolate, silver, red---basically mixed colors.
Breed Temperament Information :Although not part of the family of small dogs, a Goldendoodle can be a friend to everyone---not only people and kids but also to other dogs and pets, and will not really come across as intimidating despite of its large size.  Goldendoodle Dog Breed Information’s always mentions that it is an obedient dog and is really easy to train due to its intelligence.  However, Goldendoodle owners should never leave this breed alone for long periods of time as it has the tendency to be destructive and mischievous if without the company of its owners/family.
Breed Ownership Information :If you would like ownership of a Goldendoodle puppy you should first know that this is a breed that requires company and should not be left home alone for a long time.  This is because behavioural issues may result from loneliness, not having the right companionship, being caged for long hours, in short, improper ownership.  A Goldendoodle cannot also be relied on as a guard dog because of its friendly nature; instead of hurting intruders, a Goldendoodle will more often than not play and make friends with those strangers.
Breed Activity Information :

The Goldendoodle breed only needs a medium amount of exercise per day.  Walking and fetching games may be examples of activities that you can do with your Goldendoodle.  It may also enjoy swimming if trained young.

Breed Care Information :In caring for a Goldendoodle, it is a requirement to live with this breed’s social nature and at the same time provide them with what they need: companionship.  They get lonely a lot if left on their own.  Grooming is not that strenuous as a long haired Golden doodle only needs brushing at least 1-2 times per week while a short haired Goldendoodle will only need brushing twice per month
Breed Training Information :

You will have no problems in training your Goldendoodle as it loves learning and would be very eager to please its owner.  Just incorporate repetition and positive reinforcement during training sessions to be successful.  Take note though that a Goldendoodle does not respond positively to harsh training ways.
