Breed Overview Information :A Goldador puppy is a mixed breed of the Labrador Retriever and the Golden Retriever.  It is said to contain the traits of the two mentioned breeds.  Other names for this breed would be Golden Labrador, Glab, and Retrievador.  They have a longevity of 10-14 years and are obviously not one of the small dogs in the market but are really large because of their “ancestors.”  Goldadors are one of those great dog breeds that are good Search and Rescue dogs, Guide dogs as well as Drug Detection dogs.
Breed Character Information :

The Goldador is characterized by its sturdy and muscular built.  Its character is a mixture of the characters of a Golden Retriever and a Labrador Retriever which can be summed up into the following traits: agile, athletic, and among those hardy dog breeds. Its kind expression attracts people to it.

Breed Coat Information :

Goldadors have double coats with the outer coat described by Goldador Breed Dog Breed Information’s as water proof, hard in texture and short in length. The under coat of a Goldador on the other hand is soft to the touch and dense at the same time.

Breed Temperament Information :

The Goldador has a very pleasant temperament and is loyal and loving.  It is a breed that is family oriented and has the love for children.  The Goldador is also a dog that gets along well with other dogs whether big dogs or small dogs as well as with other household pets.  Goldadors make excellent watchdogs and can be expected to warn the family immediately if there are visitors, strangers and the likes as well as if there are weird sounds.

Breed Ownership Information :

Goldadors are one of those almost perfect hybrids because of the great traits they are born with.  However, this breed tends to get lonely easily and would not like to be left alone for long periods of time.  As an owner, you should know that a Goldador puppy will become destructive every time it’s bored or during the times it feels lonely.  That is why if you are out most of the time then a Goldador may not be right for you.

Breed Activity Information :

The Goldador is a very active breed and needs a lot of physical exercise as well as mental stimulation.  Goldador Breed Dog Breed Information’s reminds us that Goldadors need to live in a place where there is enough space where they can run and roam.  The best activities that are well loved by Goldadors would be long walks, swimming, etc.

Breed Care Information :

Goldadors need their dead hair removed through brushing with the use of a firm bristle brush on a regular basis.  Bathing should be done when necessary, of course using only a mild shampoo.  Your Goldador should also have its ears checked regularly and cleaned as it is prone to ear infection.  Other health issues that are common to Goldadors are: heart problems, hip dysplasia, etc.

Breed Training Information :

Your Goldador needs to be exposed to early socialization as well as obedience training.  Though intelligent, this breed is sensitive so they will not respond well to heavy handed training methods.  A firm but loving approach partnered with patience is the best training method for Goldadors.
