| Breed Overview Information : | The English Pointer was used mainly as a gun dog and is included in the list of dog breeds that were “developed” solely for the purpose of helping the hunters. In the past, hunters normally used both the English Pointer puppy and a retriever to track games. English pointers were also used a lot during sporting events for tracking hares which would then be chased by the hunters; Greyhounds. |
