A lot of people love dogs but most of them like them because of their physical appearance. When you decide on getting a dog of your choice, it is very important to not just look at the outward appearance but the overall characteristics of that breed as to its temperament, its level of training capacity, its health concerns and more importantly its care and maintenance.
With the various hustle and bustle that we are living in right now, it is very important for us to understand that there are various dog breed types and these variations have different care and maintenance. It is important as well to check on the lifestyle that you have as well as the resources and available space in your house. By this, you may be able to evaluate more if you will need a dog that will have less maintenance but of course, still be your companion in your everyday living that will definitely create fun and enjoyment as well as another addition to your family.
The coat of the dog is its fur. It can either be double or single-coated. Determining this would help you in finding out the breed type and health type of your chosen dog. There are various dogs that shed more coat than the usual. So you might reconsider if you’d like to give full attention to this or not, depending on the amount of time you will be able to spend with your dog’s care and maintenance. Often, domesticated dog breeds shed their coats twice a year. But there are dogs that would shed more depending on the climate type.
Similar to the human hair, a dog’s coat is no more different. There are some coats that would grow continuously and would require frequent trimming. Well, it will all just depend on the owner or the handler if he’s the type that would spend more time in caring for the dog’s health and maintenance.
On the other hand, looking at the dog breeds’ coats, this is one important aspect especially in dog shows. More often than not, it is a big factor that appearance of the dog would seem very nice and healthy looking because of the coat and the care it has on it.
There are some considerations in considering the coat of the dogs especially for judging. Color is one important aspect. Next are the markings, then the pattern, the texture of the hair and lastly, the length of the hair.
Dog breed coats come in various patterns and colors. There are some that would come in either one or two colors. Others would have more than two colors which actually are attractive for some who would choose dogs because of appearance and these are usually the working type of dogs. |
