Breed Overview Information :  

Dalmatians are dog breeds that are very popular because of their white colored coat coupled with spots of black or brown. In fact, an animation was made in honor of these not really small dogs: 101 Dalmatians. 

 

Dalmatians are believed to have been around since the ancient times in the area called Dalmatia found in Yugoslavia.  Because of their skills as guard dogs, the English Royal family adores Dalmatians.  They have also been used as US soldier protectors during the World Wars.
Breed Character Information : Dalmatians have a liking for people and horses.  A trait that they have similar to small dogs would be its love of children.  A Dalmatian puppy is also very playful.  It has a high energy level but take note that this might result to it knocking over furniture, or even children during its play.  Dalmatian Breed information’s tells us how smart Dalmatians are and how they can respond quickly if their owner is firm with his or her commands.
Breed Coat Information : 

Dalmatians are one of those multiple shedding dog breeds, because of the fact that it sheds its coat more than once a year.  The coat hairs have barbed ends which result to those hairs being stuck to furniture, clothes, etc.  Be prepared if you own a Dalmatian when it comes to cleaning the loose dog hairs all over your house.

 

Aside from the brown or black spots found in Dalmatians, other shades would be orange, mosaic, pale yellow, and bluish gray.
Breed Temperament Information :  The Dalmatian puppy is very sensitive and would not like to be left by it self for long hours.  It constantly needs human companionship.  If a Dalmatian becomes either bored or lonely, it will become destructive.  It is also reserved when it comes to strangers hence making it a great watchdog.
Breed Ownership Information :Before buying a Dalmatian, take note that it requires a lot of time to be with you and leaving it alone for long periods of time would break its heart and when you come home, do not be surprised to see things chewed up or broken as a result of you leaving your Dalmatian behind.
Breed Activity Information :   

Dalmatians as seen in Dalmatian Breed information’s need to be exercised often.  They would love to engage in activities or play sessions with their owners and other family members. The Dalmatian is a kind of dog that needs to bond with its family.  The best activities for this dog would be jogging, walking, and hiking.

Breed Care Information :Dalmatians need their coat hairs to be brushed frequently.  A firm bristle brush should be used in order to lessen hair fall.  In bathing mild shampoos should be used.  Avoid bringing your Dalmatian to places with extreme weather conditions as this breed would not be able to take it.
Breed Training Information :  Obedience training is a must for your Dalmatian.  A Heavy handed training approach should be avoided.  Instead the trainer must be firm, consistent and should give Dalmatians praises or rewards to encourage learning and attention.
