| Breed Overview Information : | Dachshunds are elongated in appearance and are one of the so called hound dog breeds. Their main use before was in badger hunting/tracking. Because of their long and narrow structure, dachshunds are small dogs that are referred to as “hot dogs” or “wiener dogs.” |

| Breed Activity Information : | Dachshunds are among the really playful dog breeds and love the activity of play catching best. They are however not in need of a lot of exercise. In fact, taking it on short walks would be enough. Take note that a Dachshund gets tired quickly therefore vigorous exercises are a no-no. Dachshunds are also prone to having back issues so running or jumping (high) are not recommended. |
